Display & Class Coordinators: Dama Mariana Ruiz de Medina (she/her) and Noble Erasmus Taylor (they/them)
Arts & Sciences will play as big of a role as ever at this year’s Highland Havoc: Horses & Harvests!
Dama Mariana Ruiz de Medina is organizing the activities, while Noble Erasmus Taylor will be the Point of Contact at the event!
They are planning…
Open Display
Artisans are invited to join an open display of any projects pertaining to harvest or harvest festivals. Over the course of the day, the baronage will award a Baronage Choice award for the best inclusion of horses in a display.
Experience Horse Driving
Come learn about driving equipment both from the driver and horse’s perspective! Learn the pieces of equipment used for driving and harvesting, handle and try some out (horse not included), and explore the mechanical side of remotely controlling an equine.
Classes
We are recruiting teachers for classes on harvest systems in period! We invite anyone who has experience in teaching about driving animals, extensive crop production like grains, grasses, or fibers to send in a class request to moas@highlandfoorde.atlantia.sca.org.
We currently have two classes planned (and are accepting more!):
Mushroom Foraging with Mu’allamah Tala al-Zahra
Fire Starting with Lord Finn Lochlannach Úa Domnail
Arts & Sciences Schedule: TBD
