Ride Before a Queen Rules
If you plan to compete in the RBaQ at Highland Havoc, please see this Ride Before a Prince scoresheet. It is recommended you come up with your pattern before the event. Please make 3 copies of your scoresheet. The day of the event, if you change your mind or forgot stuff and still wish to compete you can use your lunch break to put down your pattern and make copies there.
Please also see How to Ride Before a Prince and the Ride Before a Prince Cheat Sheet for ideas of how to make a pattern and commonly used movements. You can also utilize Mistress Bridget Reade of Dunvegan’s (Jennifer Jobst’s) website or Epy’s Ride Before a Prince Virtual Movement Reviews webpage. It is recommended and encouraged that you research more movements than provided, if you are inclined to go down said rabbit hole.
If you only plan to do your movements:
All at a walk you will have a 3 min time limit,
Not all at a walk you will have a 4 min time limit.
You do not have to use the whole time. The judge’s stand will be located around the middle of a long side of the arena. We will put up suggested boundaries to make the size of the RBaQ arena smaller.
Smack/Hoof Down: Target Archers vs Equestrians:
This will be run similar to last year but with a twist.
Who will be the time victor, the target archers or the mounted lancers? Just like last year, the two teams will compete against each other on opposite sides of the fence. Archers will have to hit three targets from a variety of positions and equestrians will have to chop down multiple heads, while weaving them. And now— also timed so we can establish the true victorious team!
Please let Zarra know if you have questions!
